How to Revise GK in the last 20 days
If there’s one section that can either boost or destroy your score it is Current Affairs (GK). In the final 20 days before the exam, students often panic on what to review and how much is enough. However, if you develop a good strategy and use high quality material, like CLAT Kautilya and GK Sureshot by FLAMES CLAT, the vast syllabus can be covered. This is your final 20 day GK review plan.

1. Themes To Focus On
In CLAT, the GK section is passage based, direct facts are not sufficient for getting the full score in this section. You should focus on themes that have repeated:
- Government Schemes and Policies
- Major Judgments and Legal Developments
- National & International Organizations
- Economic and Environmental Reports
- Awards, Sports, and Summits
- Foreign Relations of India
- Science and Tech in the news
Revise each of these in order of frequency and make one-page summary notes for it.
2. Engaging in Active Recall Instead of Just Passive Reading
Simply reread. Then, test yourself! Cover the scheme name or event and see if you can recall what it was for, which ministry it was under, or the date before checking the answer.
This act of engaging in active recall is the best way to facilitate long-term memory retrieval, especially if the exam has stressed you out.
A simple tip: revise one month, quiz yourself for 10 minutes, and only then move to the next.

3. Revise Only Trusted Sources
At this stage, do not change the sources that you have been using. Just stick to your sources. The CLAT Kautilya Monthly Compilations and FLAMES GK Sureshot PDF are already concise, accurate and will cover 90-95% of what might be asked.
If you have already been reading the Kautilya or Sureshot, use this time to review and recall the material and not to reread.
4. The 20-Day Micro Plan
Here is a short, utilise breakdown (it's totally doable):
Days 1-10:
- Revise July to December of 2024 (or last 6 months before CLAT).
- Focus on legal and policy-based news as they carry maximum weightage.

Days 11-15:
- Revise from January to June of 2024.
- Highlight the frequently appearing names, awards, Government reports.
Days 16-18:
- Solve GK quizzes or 1 current affairs sectional test daily.
- Analyse mistakes carefully and note down what you missed so that you can quickly revise it before the D-Day.
Days 19-20:
- Go through your one-page summaries and monthly highlights from CLAT Kautilya again.
- Keep the last 2 days only for light revision and calm focus.
5. Applying Visual Memory Tricks
Create simple memory tables and charts of confusing data.
For instance, a memory table like "Schemes under Different Ministries" or "Reports Released By Which Body".
These colored notes help you build a visual memorial and you will remember the details at the time of the exam faster.

6. Mistakes to Avoid
- Starting new General Knowledge (GK) sources at this moment as it will only lead you to confusion.
- Not considering legal current affairs..these will help you gain marks easily.
- Reading in a passive manner where you do not test your recall.
- Not revising multiple times..retention will drop after 3-4 days.
7. Final 48 Hour formula
- Revise all GK passages from the mock tests you have taken before.
- Go through FLAMES GK Sureshot Rapid Notes once more.
- Get enough sleep, stay hydrated and do not try to learn new information in the final days..just try to revise everything that's you have studied already.
- Remember, GK is the only section where you can increase your percentile in less time if you revise correctly!
